  • 4 quarts popped popcorn (about 16 cups)
  • 1 ½ C Pioneer® Sugar
  • ½ C light corn syrup
  • 2 T butter
  • ¼ tsp. cream of tartar
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • green food coloring
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

  1. Preheat oven to 200° F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray. Could also use a large roaster sprayed with cooking spray; set aside.
  2. Pop the corn and put into a large mixing bowl or two.
  3. In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add Pioneer® Sugar, corn syrup, cream of tartar and salt. Increase heat to medium-high and bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly to dissolve sugar.
  4. Once mixture boils add in food coloring to your preferred shade of green and stop stirring. Boil for 5 minutes – do not stir. Mixture should be about 250-260° F. Remove from heat and carefully stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  5. Working quickly, while mixture is foamy, pour over your popped corn and gently stir to coat evenly.
  6. Placed coated popcorn into a large roaster or rimmed baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven, let cool and break apart any larger clumps as desired and put into a serving bowl or individual bags. Enjoy!
