Scewered Teriyaki Beef -Photographed on Hasselblad H1-22mb Camera

Teriyaki Kabobs

  • ¼ C Pioneer® Golden Brown Sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 T oil
  • ¼ C water
  • ½ tsp. ginger
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ C soy sauce
  • 1 lb. top sirloin or flank steak
  • 1 can (20 oz.) pineapple chunks, drained
  • ½ C green onions, cut into 1” pieces
  • 6 – 8 skewers


  1. In a small bowl combine, Pioneer® Golden Brown Sugar, oil, water, ginger, pepper, garlic and soy sauce. Mix ingredients until blended; set aside.
  2. Cut meat (with grain) into 2-inch cubes. Place meat in a large bowl; pour marinade over the meat. Stir gently, cover tightly and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.
  3. Remove meat from refrigerator and drain. Alternately place two pieces of meat, pineapple and onion on each skewer.

Charcoal grilling:

  1. Grill kabobs on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 12 to 14 minutes or until meat is slightly pink, turning once.

Gas grilling:

  1. Preheat grill. Reduce to medium heat. Place kabobs on grill rack over heat. Cover; grill as above.
