Cream together shortening and white granulated Pioneer Sugar. Add molasses and egg; beat well.
In a separate bowl sift together flour, ginger, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves. Add to the creamed mixture and blend well. Lightly cover and chill a few hours in the refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Remove cookie dough and form into 1-inch balls. Roll in white granulated Pioneer Sugar to coat and place on non-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 – 10 minutes.
