Pioneer Raisin Cookies

  • 1 ½ C Pioneer® Sugar
  • ½ C shortening
  • ½ C butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • ½ C milk
  • 5 C flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 C raisins, chopped
  • 1 tsp. vanilla


  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together Pioneer® Sugar, shortening and butter. Beat in eggs. Add the baking soda to the milk and pour into the mixture. Add 1 cup of flour, salt and baking powder. Stir in raisins and vanilla. Add the rest of the flour until it makes a soft dough. Roll and cut with a round cookie cutter (or top of glass), sprinkle with Pioneer® Sugar.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned on bottom. Cool on rack. Enjoy!
