Sandy Pecans cookies ready for the holidays

Pecan – Sour Cream Cookies

  • ½ C butter
  • 1 ½ C Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 C sour cream
  • 2 ½ C flour
  • ½ baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ C pecans, chopped


  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar. Add eggs and mix well with mixer.
  2. In separate bowl add vanilla to sour cream; set aside.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Alternately add the dry ingredients and sour cream mixture to the sugar batter. Stir in pecans and chill until dough is firm.
  5. Preheat oven to 400° F. Lightly grease a baking sheet or use parchment paper.
  6. Drop dough by teaspoonful 2-inches apart on baking sheet.
  7. Bake 10-15 minutes. Remove and cool on wire rack.
