Peanut Butter Bread

  • 2 T butter
  • 4 T Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar
  • peanuts, coarsley chopped
  • 1 T water


  • 1 egg
  • 1 C Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 T peanut butter
  • 2 T butter, melted
  • 1 C sour milk or buttermilk
  • 2 C flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Spread 2 tablespoons of butter on the bottom of a loaf pan. Cover with Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar and peanuts. Sprinkle the water over the mixture; set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg and the Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar together. Stir in the peanut butter and melted butter. Add the milk. Stir in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; mix well. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let stand on wire rack for 10 minutes. Gently run a knife around the sides and remove bread upside on a platter. Serve with butter or by itself.
