  • ⅓ C butter
  • ⅓ C Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1 C flour, sifted
  • ½ C walnuts, chopped
  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ C Pioneer® Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 T milk
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • ½ tsp. vanilla


  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan; set aside.
  2. Using an electric mixer at medium speed, cream together butter and Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar in bowl until light and fluffy. Stir in flour and walnuts, mixing until crumbly. Remove 1 cup of the crumb mixture; reserving for topping. Press remaining mixture into bottom of prepared pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Meanwhile, beat cream cheese in bowl with mixer on medium, until smooth. Gradually add in Pioneer® Sugar, egg, milk, lemon juice and vanilla, beat well. Spread cream mixture over baked crust. Sprinkle with the 1 cup reserved crumb mixture. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until filling is set. Cool in pan on rack. Cut into 2-inch squares. Store in refrigerator.
