Hot Strawberry Duff

  • 1 C Pioneer® Sugar
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 quart strawberries, cleaned, hulled & halved
  • 4 tsp. butter, melted


  • 2 C flour
  • 3 tsp. Pioneer® Sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ T salt
  • ¼ lb. butter (very cold), cut into 8 pieces
  • ⅔ C milk


  • 1 tsp. vanilla, optional; to taste
  • 1 C sweetened heavy cream, whipped



  1. In a medium bowl, mix Pioneer® Sugar and cornstarch. Add strawberries and pour into an 8-inch square baking dish. Drizzle melted butter over strawberries.
  2. Preheat oven to 425° F.


  1. In a food processor (with metal blade) add flour, Pioneer® Sugar, baking powder and salt; pulse a few times to mix together. Add pieces of butter and pulse on and off till butter is the size of small peas. Blending gently with a spoon add the milk. {If you don’t have a food processor; in a mixing bowl add the first 4 ingredients and blend well. Cut the butter with a fork in the flour mixture leaving the shapes rough. Gently stir in the milk}.
  2. Spread dough over the strawberry filling gently. Place in center of oven and bake 20 minutes; cover with loose foil if biscuits brown too fast.


  1. Mix the vanilla with the whipped heavy cream. Dab cream to dish when serving warm or cold. Enjoy!
