Homemade Kahlua

  • 4 C Pioneer® Sugar, divided
  • 1 vanilla bean (split in half long way)
  • 1 jar (2 oz.) instant coffee
  • 1 fifth 80 proof vodka
  • 4 C water, divided
  • ½ gallon glass container


  1. In a saucepan mix 3 cups water and Pioneer® Sugar; boil for 20 minutes; stirring to dissolve sugar.
  2. Remove from heat and add vanilla bean; let cool.
  3. Heat 1 cup water to boil, mix with the coffee; set aside to cool.
  4. Mix together coffee water, sugar water, and vodka. Place in half-gallon glass container. Cover and let stand for 2 weeks before serving.
