  • 6-8 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 C Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp. apple pie spice
  • Bisquick® dumpling dough (according to box directions)
  • ½ C Pioneer® Sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Peel and slice as many apples as you want. (We do a lot of them as they cook down). Spread in bottom of pie plate. Add the Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar and apple pie spice to the top of the apples.
  3. Make the dumpling dough with Bisquick® using the directions on the box. Spread this mixture over the apples. Before baking sprinkle Pioneer® Sugar over the top of the dough. Bake 50 minutes or until apples are tender. Let set for awhile, then put another pie pan on top of it and turn over so the Bisquick® top will be on the bottom. Serve warm with cool whip, ice cream or even like mother did with half & half heavy cream over top in a bowl.
