Farmers Meatloaf

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 med. onion, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ C Pioneer® Sugar
  • ⅓ C oatmeal
  • 2 to 3 slices white bread, cubed
  • ⅔ C ketchup
  • 1 LG clove fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • ½ C barbecue sauce or ketchup


  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Lightly spray a loaf pan with cooking spray; set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl add ground beef, onion, eggs, Pioneer® Sugar, oatmeal, bread, ketchup, garlic, sea salt and pepper. With clean hands, mix all the ingredients together thoroughly.
  3. Place in loaf pan and pat down. Add barbecue sauce to the top of the meatloaf; spread with spoon.
  4. Cover pan with tinfoil; place in oven for approximately 90 minutes. The last 15 minutes of cooking remove the tinfoil. (You can add a few more squirts of sauce to the top of meatloaf at this time if you’d like).

Cook's Note

This recipe is really good the next day in sandwiches.
