Cherry Butter Crisps

  • ¾ C butter, softened
  • 1 C Pioneer® Sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 ½ tsp. lemon zest
  • 1 ½ tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 ½ tsp. cherry liqueur
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • 2 C all-purpose flour
  • colored Pioneer® Sugar


  1. Beat butter, Pioneer® Sugar, egg yolks, lemon zest, lemon juice, cherry liqueur and salt in large mixer bowl.
  2. Stir in flour. Shape into ball, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease baking sheet; set aside.
  4. Roll dough ⅛-inch thick on lightly floured cloth covered cutting board. Cut into desired shapes. Place on prepared baking sheet sprinkle with colored Pioneer® Sugar. Bake 10 minutes (cookies will not be brown). Cool on wire racks. Store in airtight container 2 days to develop flavor. Cookies can be stored in airtight container at room temp up to 6 weeks or in freezer for 2 months.

Cooks Note

Feel free to omit adding colored sugar before baking and decorate with icing as desired.
