Cheddar Quick Bread

  • 2 C flour
  • 1 T Pioneer® Sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ C butter or margarine
  • 2 C Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 1 C milk
  • 1 egg, beaten


  1. Preheat oven to 400° F. Grease 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with shortening & flour; set aside.
  2. Mix flour, Pioneer® Sugar, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese.
  3. In a separate bowl, break egg and add milk; mix well.
  4. Add combined milk and egg mixture to flour and cheese ingredients; mix just until moistened.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes. Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack to cool completely.
