  • 6 egg yolks
  • 6 tsp Pioneer® Sugar
  • 2 T rum or rum extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ – 2 C flour (enough to make a stiff dough)
  • Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar
  • oil for deep frying


  1. Beat egg yolks, add Pioneer® Sugar and rum; mix well. Add salt and flour. 
  2. Roll out on a lightly floured pastry board until very thin. Cut into diamond shape strips with sharp knife. Cut a slit through the center and gently pull one end through. Set aside until finished. 
  3. Heat oil in deep fryer or about 2-3 inches in deep frying pan. Gently place wings into hot oil. Fry until light brown in color. Remove with slotted spoon to a paper-toweled line plate to drain off excess oil. 
  4. Sprinkle with Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar. Serve with melted chocolate or your favorite jam (raspberry or strawberry) slightly warmed.
